USF Sarasota-Manatee College of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership (CHTL) is one of the fastest growing colleges in two of Florida’s fastest growing industries. For 11 years, this USFSM program has offered an array of learning tools for managers in the hotel, restaurant and tourism sectors, including planning, finance, accounting, economics, technology, marketing, branding, pricing, logistics, staffing and more. Beginning this year with nine hospitality students from Taiwan studying in a certificate program and more international students and visiting chefs on the way, the CHTL is becoming more global every day.
CHTL offers undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and certificate programs both in-person and online that meet a variety of professional and workforce needs. The IT program bridges the gap between computer science and management information systems, with an emphasis on knowledge-based computer and information technology, including programming, applications, networking, systems administration and the management of a variety of computing environments.
Thanks to a generous gift from the JB McKibbon Foundation in 2013, CHTL created the M3Center for Hospitality and Tourism Leadership, which will support graduate assistants and underwrite faculty and student research and participation in national and international conferences and trainings, with expertise from visiting faculty invited to USFSM from many countries.
A portion of the proceeds from Clearwater Beach Uncorked will benefit the students in the CHTL in the form of scholarships and enhanced educational activities.
